About Me
Hi! My name is Vivian and I'm currently working as a systems engineer on a rapid DNA identification system at integenX. I am open to exploring other opportunities in either a sports or biomedical related company working to improve the performance of the human body or advance patient care.
When I'm not busy with work, you can find me working out at the gym as I better myself and prepare for the next Taekwon-Do World Championships. I have trained for 8 years in the martial arts of Taekwon-Do and won my first national title in the summer of 2010 and was both a competitor and coach for the USA team at the 2011 World Championships in New Zealand. Sports have always been a part of my life, and when I came to UC San Diego leaving my taekwon-do back home, I realized I needed to be doing one sport or another and joined the Women's Crew Team my first year. The experiences in teamwork and camaraderie that I have learned from the early morning practices to the afternoon workouts have left me with unforgettable experiences and relationships that I will never forget. It's also one reason why I chose bioengineering as my major to continually find ways to bring the maximum potential to the human body.
Throughout my time at UC San Diego, I have been involved in a few student run organizations, namely TESC, Tau Beta Pi, and the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers. I help participate in the planning and execution of many events that differ from social, outreach, to business develop type events. If you found yourself at any of these events and saw a person with a camera, that was probably me, as I'm often asked for my photography skills to capture memories of the day.
I'm always up to try and learn new things, so if you're looking for an extremely motivated and driven person to join your team please send me an email!
